Funeral services for Richard Earl Amerine, 97, of Lufkin, will be held in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan.

Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery in the Barnum Community in Polk County, Texas.

Mr. Amerine was born December 29, 1912 in Chester and passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 in Hudson, Texas.

He was a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ in the Barnum Community in Polk County, Texas and was an engineer for the MC&SA railroad.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie D. (Pate) Amerine; parents, Richard Lee and Cora Colita (Harrison) Amerine; brother, Clarence Amerine; and sisters, Thelma Havis and Susie Griffin.

He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Philmon of Lufkin; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Amerine of Lufkin and Susie Evelyn Pate of Corrigan, and numerous other relatives and friends.
