John is not the name his parents had originally planned to name their son, but considering the date on which he was born, John was the appropriate name. Unfortunately, John R. Allman would die even younger than the President after whom he was named. He lost his life while sleeping in his Marine Barracks in Beirut Lebanon when it was bombed by terrorist.
