His actual surname was Al-Jabari. He was a cousin of my mother's, although I referred to him as an Uncle. He graduated from the University of Colorado. He worked as a Civil Engineer for the NYC Transit Authority out of Brooklyn Heights, until his retirement. He & his family lived in Jamaica, Queens until 1965, when he relocated to Elmont, Long Island. He & his first wife moved to Sun City Center, Florida in 1991. After his 2nd marriage, he relocated to Apollo Beach, Florida. He was a generous man, but could also be difficult...as he aged, he alienated more people out of his life. A tourtured soul, indeed.
