My uncle; oldest child of Herbert & Mildred Kearns...he showed artistic apptitude in high school. He had an introverted personality which made him hard to get along with, until he warmed up to you. He did enlist in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served as an MP for about a year, until he was attacked by persons unknown. His injuries led him to have an honorable discharge, but he became a severe alcoholic for most of his life. He spent many years in veterans hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, & homelessness. He was finally placed in the Tewksbury State Hospital, where he was given proper medication & lived out the remainder of his life. I was able to get to know him during the last 4 years of his life.

Military Information: PVT, US ARMY
