After a life well lived Anita went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 75. She was born on December 9, 1933 to Willie Dee and Ibah Dixon. She was a long time resident of Mesquite, Texas and retired as an administrator from the Dallas County Community College District in 1994. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend she shared her love of cooking and gardening. She was a remarkable intelligent and compassionate woman who took pride in making this world a better place. Anita touched the lives of many people with her strong Christian faith and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, three sisters and her husband Charles. She is survived by her children Benny and Bev Adams of Clovis, New Mexico, Trinia and Robert Anthony of Forney and Jim and Kari Adams of Garland and one sister, Lenora. She was little Granny/Great Granny to eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She had a host of friends; especially her Sunday School class at First Baptist Church of Mesquite whom she lovingly referred to as her "little ladies". We will miss her unfaltering, unwavering strength. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the funeral home.
