Gretchen was a little brown miniature Dachshund who wasn't supposed to live to her first birthday. She had numerous, seemingly insurmountable medical problems. She proved all the vets wrong and lived happily and healthily up until 4 days before her 16th birthday. On the night of the 4th of July, 2001, her tiny heart began to fail and she died the next morning. She brought joy into all of our lives and she will always have a special place in our hearts.
