Jack was a four-term Denville Councilman before retiring to Pawley's Island, South Carolina. He was also the President of the Cedar Lake Property Owners, Inc. and he had been Vice-President of the tax account department at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City for 40 years. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and he was closely involved with the Kiwanis International for more than 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; a son, James; three daughters, Debra, Susan and Lynn, 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. His sister, Katherine, also survives.
