Mary Kathryn Charleston Vaquer, passed away peacefully at the Tarzana Providence Medical Center. She was 76.

After a valiant fight with renal and multiple organ failure, she passed away surrounded by the love of granddaughter Amber, niece Lydia and son Armand. Before the ventilator was turned off, a prayer over her was led by Lydia.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her parents were Merle E. Charleston and Mary G. Lucas. She married Armand Manual Vaquer in January 1953. She was active in the PTA and the Cub Scouts (she served as corresponding secretary for the pack). She loved to travel and was a avid Elvis Presley fan. She visited Presley's Graceland estate twice. She also loved animals, particularly birds. She also attended Ronald Reagan's presidential victory party in 1980 at the Century Plaza Hotel. One of her favorite vacation spots was Zion National Park in Utah. In 2003, she was determined to complete the "Weeping Rock" trail. She made it! She outlived her husband Armand by exactly ten years and one month.

She is survived by her son Armand, granddaughter Amber and many nieces and nephews.
