Born to Edmund and Ethel (Mitchell) Adrian in NYC, Sister Ethel was predeceased by her sisters, Janet and Margaret Adrian. She is survived by several cousins. Sister Ethel was an educator and administrator in several schools in the Archdiocese of New York including Good Shepherd in Manhattan, Sacred Heart, St. Simon Stock and St. Frances Xavier in the Bronx, Our Lady of Victory in Tarrytown, and Sacred Heart in Dobbs Ferry. For many years she was the administrator of the Mt. Mercy Nursery School in Dobbs Ferry. When Sister Ethel retired from the classroom and early childhood education, she continued to reside at Mt. Mercy in Dobbs Ferry where she committed herself to many forms of community service, particularly the visitation of the sick. Later, she lived at the Marian Woods Residence in Hartsdale before moving to Worcester, MA. In 2005, she returned to NY and became a resident of the Schervier Nursing Home in Riverdale, where she was living at the time of her death.
