Schuetze moved his church furniture business to Waukesha in 1913. He later built a large plant on Waukesha's east side, which became one of the largest church furniture businesses in the nation. Schuetze specialized in pew's, carvings and altar work. Ashamed of the wild condition of the park that John P. Buchner had donated in 1915, Schuetze used his own funds to develop a layout for the park. He later became Waukesha's first Park Board Chariman. The Schuetze building is named for him. In 1967, the Schuetze family donated the pew's that are in our chapel.
