In the Early part of the 20th century, the Wisconsin Industrial School for Boys stood just north of Prairie Home Cemetery. The State of Wisconsin and the City of Waukesha reached an agreement whereby some of the land belonging to the school would be sold to Prairie Home in exchange for burial space for any boys who died while at the school. No one knows exactly how many buys were buried here over the years as no record was made of their names or ages.
