BARNES, Lynda, age 83 of Sherwood died Friday, July 18, 2003 at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. She was born in Franklin County and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Barnes and son, Harold Gene Barnes. She is survived by five sons, all of Sherwood, George H. Barnes, Jr., Kenneth Ray Barnes, Carter Glen Barnes, Michael Eugene Barnes and Ronald Earl Barnes, four daughters, Dorothy Lynn Barnes of Sewanee, Geraline Garner, Patricia Jackson and Joyce Jackson, all of Sherwood, sisters Claudia Gilbert of McColmb, Miss., Phoebe Samples of St. Charles, Ill. and Kathleen Black of Cowan, 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Service was Sunday, July 20, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church with Sister Betty Reed and Sister Linda Barnes officiating. Interment was in the Mt. View Cemetery in Sherwood.
