He was born Jan. 21, 1894 in Sanilac County. He married Rena Moody Oct 9, 1920 in Detroit.
Mr. Avery was a Fremont Township farmer. He was a member of Peck United Methodist Church He was an Army Veteran of World War I.
Mr. Avery is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs Elek (Jean) Papp Sandusky, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Two Brothers, Orrin and Charles died earlier.
Services were held Sunday in Peck Methodist church. The Rev. J.D. Landis, pastor, and Rev. Russell Stanley, pastor of Sandusky Nazarene church officiated. Burial was in Fremont Cemetery.
