Fay Florene Overby, 93, of Waco, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, in her home with her two daughters at her side. Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, at First Baptist Church Chapel with the Dr. Matt Snowden officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.
Flo was born in Hemphill, Texas, to William and Lela Rushing. She married Shelton E. Overby on Nov. 1, 1941. Flo spent most of her life as a homemaker and also taught school at Meadowbrook Elementary for 19 years. She retired to care for her husband when he became disabled with Parkinson's disease.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton; her daughter, Shelly Morrison; her parents, Jesse and Lela Rushing; and her sister, Reba Robertson.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy and Jane Overby, of Waco; grandchildren, Kent Morrison, Christopher Diaz, Jessica Morrison, and Emily Florio; great-granddaughter, Alex Brooks; her twin sister, Irene Westerfield; and many other relatives and friends.
