Funeral services for William Houston Bobbitt, Sr., 76, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Minister Alvin Swain, pastor of Oil City Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.

Mr. Bobbitt, a native of Norphlet, AR and resident of Shreveport, LA for most of his life, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2001 in Shreveport, LA. He was a member of Oil City Church of Christ and a retired foreman for the Caddo Parish School Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Ward and Florence Creamer Bobbitt, sisters, Dr. Patricia Bobbitt, Lillian Horton, and Ruby Sherwood and brother, Julian Bobbitt. "Paw Paw" Bill has since been reunited in Heaven with his loving wife, Ozie Marie Kegley Bobbitt and his oldest daughter Cathy Marie Bobbitt Ashford.

Mr. Bobbitt is survived by his son, William H. Bobbitt, Jr. and wife Kathy; and daughters, Louise Glay and husband Verne of Haughton, LA, and Carol Sue Bobbitt Presnell of Sibley, LA; his son-in-law Richard M. Ashford of Bedford, Texas; his sister, Helen Sue Whitt of Shreveport, LA; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Russell Bobbitt, Nick Nichols, Aaron Weaver, Anthony Bobbitt, Charles Bobbitt, and Robert Ashford.
