John T. Aikin, Jr. passed away at Community Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born March 17, 1966 in Ottawa, IL.

He graduated from Izmir American High School in Izmir, Turkey and then graduated from the University of Maryland in Munich, Germany.

He had lived in Anderson for the past two years, moving here from Fishers. He worked as an operations executive with Lifetouch in Muncie.

John attended St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He was an entrepreneur and participated in B.N.I. He was a Rotarian in Fishers. He also was the girl's basketball coach at St. Mary's and St. Ambrose Schools and coached Upwards basketball at Wesley Free Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Aikin of Anderson; three daughters, Savanna Aikin, Samantha Aikin and Sarah Aikin, all of Anderson; mother, Cheryl McKigney of Anderson; step father, Robert McKinzie of Missouri; sister, Cheri Ann McKinzie of Anderson; grandparents, Dorothy Barnes of TX and Robert Frank and Delores Barnes of IL; and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, in-laws and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Aikin; and grandparents, John Richard McKigney; Elva Hanouw, George Coleman, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Frank Barnes, Harold and Thelma McKinzie and John and Wanda Aikin.
