Warrant Officer Class II Pilot, William Robert DAVIES was born December 25th 1917 in Peterborough, Canada.
He was married to Marion Elsa Davies.
He perished on the night of June 17th, 1942, with his bomber, a Halifax MK2 of the 102th Squadron, Royal Canadian Airforce, on his way to bomb targets in Germany.
During the flight over a Village called RADEWIJK in HOLLAND, their plane was shot down at 3 AM by a GERMAN Night Hunter Plane.
William Davies and the other four crew members, Daniel HANLON, Harry SMITH, Ernest "Jacky" JACKSON and Frank PEEBLES died.
They are all buried on the Begraafplaats (Cemetery) in HARDENBERG in HOLLAND.
