Frederic Atwood died suddenly at his home near Beaverton Friday morning of heart trouble. Mr. Atwood was born at Pekin, Nova Scotia, Feb. 15, 1854, and came to Boston, Mass., with his parents when a small child. His father enlisted during the Civil war and was killed in battle. His mother died soon after leaving him and his sister without friends or money. He with 250 others were sent to Ohio where he was bound out and grew up in this way to manhood. He was separated from his only relative, his darling sister, never to see her again, although through the aid of one Dr. Ladd he located her in Boston. Correspondence was kept up for a time and then ceased and he has not heard from her for 20 years.
He was married to Miss Sally Priest of Hedges, Ohio, 27 years ago. Gladwin County Record dated 8-15/1912
