Bob graduated from Russell High School in 1948. He then went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1953 on the USS Norton Sound and on the island of Guam.

Bob graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1957. He was employed by Continental Oil Company for 10 years. Bob owned and operated Ohio Falls Oil Company for 20 years and Evansville Petroleum Company for 25 years. He was a partner with Riverside Prosthetics, Inc.

Bob was a member of Smith Lodge 775 in Flatwoods, Ky., Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Louisville, Ky., and Kosair Temple Motor Patrol, Kentucky Colonel, Kentucky Petroleum Marketers Association, Indiana Petroleum Marketers Association and CommonWealth Yacht Club. He was also a member Beaulah Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Ky., since 1968.

Since retirement, Bob enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary's Medical Center and the Cancer Center. He most recently enjoyed winters in Sarasota, Fla., and spending time boating with his family and friends at his Kentucky Lake home for the past 35 years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Burl Anderson and Elsie Stiltner Anderson; brothers, Darold and Donald Anderson; and Sue Kersey.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon G. Anderson of Newburgh; daughters, Darlene LaMasters and husband, Dan of Louisville, Ky.; Kelly Anderson Smith of Newburgh, Julie A. Edwards of Orlando, Fla., and her husband, Greg, and Cynthia N. Whitehurst of Newburgh and her husband, Tom; sister, Barbara Rogers of Ashland, Ky.; grandchildren, Joshua Anderson Ganz and Justin W. LaMasters of Louisville, Ky., Megan Anderson Smith of Newburgh, Alyson N. Whitehurst and Samuel Robert Whitehurst, both of Newburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
