Beloved son of Evan, Jeannine & LaVerne Broussard. The best little boy, that was the greatest gift. 10 months of pure blessed love. The biggest heart in such a small body.

After losing our wonderful little Charlie, we found the website for Texas Shih Tzu & Lhaso Apso Rescue Center. There we found a picture of a beautiful brown-eyed grey and silver little boy called “Gizmo”. It was the eyes that did it; we had to have that poor abused fellow and give him all the love that we had. Gizmo had been through a hard time, badly abused and had to have surgery on his bladder. Well, the Center had taken good care of him and he was ready for adoption. Our application for adoption and the trip to see him proved successful. I brought him home on that December day in 2003.

Gizmo proved to be the “soul mate” of my son Evan. No one ever before witnessed such love as between those two. Giz would kiss Evan continuously; had to be close to him always; slept up under Evan’a arm every night. He was a happy little boy as long as he had Evan. Unfortunately, love was not enough when we finally discovered that Giz had liver cancer.

We had to let Gizmo go to his peace from pain. We were so happy to have had him in our lives and the love he returned, but it was time to let him go. His cremated remains are on Evan’s dresser in a beautiful oak box with a statue of a grey Shih Tzu on top. Evan says “Good Morning and Good Night” to Giz every day. He will always be missed, but remembered with love.

In the meantime, we give our love to our little Missy, also adopted from the Rescue Center, and anxiously await the day we can pick up our new baby “Rey” from the Center.
