Nell, like her father, Young Davis, and her brother, Harry, had a beautiful singing voice. I remember when I was a child and she would come to visit us she would try so hard to teach me to run scales with her first thing in the morning, and we always had a good laugh, because I more or less sounded like a frog croaking.

At that time she was listed as age 16 and he was 24. In abt 1912 they had a daughter Elizabeth. They divorced shortly after that and both remarried.
