Until the age of five Beas lived in Memphis. Then his family moved to Buffalo, New York. He grew up in Buffalo and graduated from Bennett High School. After graduation, he attended the University of Buffalo and earned a certificate in Business Administration. Then he attended Metal Working Institute of Western New York. Later Beas served his country honorably in the United States Air Force (AIC/Airman First Class). He was a retiree of Western New York State Mental Hospital (Buffalo) and an employee of Hill's Industrial and Environmental Services (Memphis). Beas was a member of New Direction Christian Church. His parents, Jefferson and Georgia Chandler-Beasley preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory is a sister, Norma Newsom of Memphis, TN; three brothers, William Crittenden (Laura) of Memphis, TN, Norris (Ora) and Bruce Beasley of Buffalo, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and "friends".
