HERCULES (Poem by Mary Griffith)

A sweet, kind man
Wanting to please whenever he can
By your side, eyes look up
Hoping for a gentle touch

Basking in the warmth of the sun
Looking at lizards and squirrels for fun
Five o'clock comes, ready for food
Five bongs sounding, set the mood

Alert the household, someone's at the door
A big bark comes across the floor
Into the leash, big ears and nose
On his walks he happily goes

The moon comes up, it's time for sleep
In his bed he rests in peace
He will be remembered for years and years
We say good-bye with many tears

Hercules was more then just a hound, he was a special friend and loving campanion his entire life in Oceanside, California.
