U.S. Army World War II Veteran. Served as a Corporal in the 54th Field Artillery, Camp Polk, Louisiana. While accompanying a convoy of trucks on Army maneuvers as messenger on a motorcycle, a civilian truck made a wrong turn in front of him and he was killed instantly.
