ABBEY.

Roy, only son of Vilroy and Emily Abbey of Kensett township, died Friday, June 10, aged 22 years. He was born on February 14, 1888, at the farm home, where he lived and died. He was a good student in the district school and a faithful worker on the home farm, having grown from an obedient, manly boy into a good, manly young man. He was of a quiet but earnest nature, respected by old and young alike, and very popular with his neighbors and companions. A severe attack of inflammatory rheumatism, three or four years ago, left him with a weak heart and enfeebled constitution, but did not impair his willingness and ambition for honest days' wotk. On the Monday before his lamented death he came from the field to the now desolated home probably far more ill than either he or anyone realized. The doctor at first pronounced it a case of grip; the next day it had developed into inflammation of the lungs; on the fourth day the malady had assumed such alarming proportions that Dr. Sanders waa called for consultation, but just as he arrived the poor patient passed away, the disease having affected his heart. The funeral, conducted by Pastor Hudson, was solemnized in the Kensett M. E. church Sunday p.m., and was very largely attended. Roy's brethren of the Kensett K. P. order, had charge from the home to the church. Interment was made in Sunset Rest cemetery, Northwood. We have no language with which to express our sympathy with Mr. and Mrs. Abbey on the loss of their true-hearted, faithful son. They had previously been sorely bereft of four children, two boys and two girls, and their hearts are rent by this last sorrow. May the God of all Consolations comfort them in their sore affliction.
