Paula Avenius, age 85, of Essex (near Richwood), died early Wednesday morning, May 30, 2007, at her home.
She was born Oct. 1,1921, in Richwood, to the late Fred and Clara (McDowell) Reeley.
She was also predeceased Oct. 19, 1998, by her husband, David Avenius, whom she married May 30, 1953, in Queens, N. Y.; and her daughter, Nancy Avenius Ransome
She was a homemaker, an accountant and a trust officer at J.P. Morgan for many years.
Paula and David split time in Essex at the family farm during the summer months and in Tenafly, N. J., during the winter.
Paula was a member of the Essex United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her devoted bulldog, Clara.
