Son of Jaque and Carolin (nee Twitz) of Germany. Husband of Margaret (nee Smith), and father of Carolin Margaret Sitler. Honorary father to George Washington Bantzhaff, Jr.

A baker by trade, Mr. Bantzhaff was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, and attained the rank of Master Sergeant in the United States Army. He died at his home of pancreatic cancer.
