Pianist, born Pauline Joutard in Paris, she studied music with her sister Flora in Hamburg. After touring Europe and performing duo piano concerts the sisters moved with their mother to South America. The Countess Carmen de Castañeda took her to Mérida, Yucatán and introduced her to the leading familes where her skill at the piano opened many doors. She would meet her future husband Domingo de Evia y Barbachano at parties there. Her performing career on hold after marriage and the birth of their only son Edgar de Evia, artist, photographer, author; the family moved to New York City ca. 1915. After her husband left with his mistress Nan, she resumed her career as Miirrha Alhambra and last worked for Martin Beck at the Martin Beck Theater in New York City. Her features were often compared with those of Lillian Gish. She lived out her retirement with her son and Robert Denning at their home in the Rhinelander Mansion at 865 Madison Avenue in New York City where the Ralph Lauren flagship makes its home today.
