OBITUARY
SOUTH BRANCH, Mich. - Fabian R. Adams, 78, of South Branch, formerly of South Lyon, passed away Thursday, July 27, 1995 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City following an extended illness. Fabian was born May 20, 1917 in Bessemer, son of Daniel and Katherine (Sprada) Adamczak. He was married to Margaret Wallace in South Lyon. She preceded him in death in 1950.
Mr. Adams served with the 3462nd Ordnance Medium Maintenance Company in the U.S. Army during World War II as a staff sergeant in the South Pacific. During his teen years, he served in the CCC. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of South Lyon and was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church, Hale. He was also a very active member of the Knights of Columbus of South Lyon and in Hale. Prior to his retirement in 1976, he had been employed as a foreman for Michigan Seamless Tube Company, South Lyon. Mr. Adams had been a 30-year resident of South Lyon prior to moving to his cabin in South Branch in 1976.
Surviving is a son, Dan Adams of Ann Arbor; two brothers, Eugene of Milwaukee and Louis of Bessemer; a sister, Catherine Adams of Sun City, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, 1995, at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Lyon, the Rev. Kees Hillenaar officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:15 a.m. until the time of services Saturday. Memorial contributions in Mr. Adams name are suggested to the Knights of Columbus Retarded Children's Fund. Phillips Funeral Home, South Lyon , is in charge of arrangements.
