Billington was best known for his role as Colonel Foster in the 1970 sci-fi series, UFO and was the most screentested for the role of James Bond and was said to be Albert R. Broccoli's first choice if Roger Moore not appeared in 1981's "For Your Eyes Only". Finally he appeard in 1977's "The Spy Who Loved Me" playing Sergei, Agent XXX ill-fated lover, at the start of the film. He died on Friday, June 3rd,aged 63 of cancer. He is survived by his son Michael Jr.
