He was born to Chester and Vesta Kier Rasmussen. He was married to Helen Johnson from 1951 to 1975. He graduated from Emmanuel Missionary college in 1952 and from Chicago College of Osteopathy in 1957. he practiced medicine for more then 45 years, including 30 years in Junction City and Eugene. He enjoyed photography, hunting, riding his Honda Gold Wing and making wooden bowls. He was among 100 shooters worldwide to compete in international clay bird championships and Olympic final tryouts in 1968. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Ivy of Oronoco, Minn., Pam Rasmussen of Lansing, Mich., and Sally Herigstad of Kent, Wash.; a sister, Muriel Davis of San Diego; and four grandchildren.The family chose not to list the cause of death. No service is planned. England's Eugene Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
