Shirley Maxine Galloup, age 74 of Reed City, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 in Grand Rapids. She was born May 21, 1939 in Butler, Indiana to Raymond and Genevieve (Hawley) Sindle and attended White Cloud area schools. On October 28, 1955 she was married in Chase to Clifford Galloup who survives her. She lived for her children and grandchildren and could always be counted on by family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Reed City VFW Post 5964 Women’s Auxiliary and loved fishing with loved ones.

She is survived by her husband Clifford Galloup of Reed City, daughters Charlotte (Dennis) Meendering of Conklin, Nila (Dirk) Galloup-Meacham of Rockford, Marion (William) Kadwell of Evart, and Kathleen (Frank) Umlor of Grand Rapids, son James (Billie) Galloup of Reed City, 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a sister Linda (Jean) Shaffer of Muskegon, and an aunt and uncle. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Genevieve Sindle, brother James Sindle, and sisters Betty Jean Galloup and Mary Sindle.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday April 29, 2014 at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City. Burial will be at Chase Township Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial contribution may be made in her name to the Reed City VFW Post 5964 Women’s Auxiliary.
