Edith L. Rasmussen, 80, formerly of 1492 Washington Ave., died Sunday in a Yarmouth nursing home after a long illness.
She was born in Worcester, Mass., a daughter of Frans and Augusta Nelson Widegren and attended schools there.
Mrs. Rasmussen came here from Worcester in 1958. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Westbrook where she taught Sunday school for many years and was active in the Women's Fellowship.
Her husband, John Rasmussen, died in 1980.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty M. Rasmussen of Brunswick; a son, John H. of Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Frances Sargent and Ruth Morse, both of Worcester; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Chapel B of Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. The Rev. Joseph Mills will officiate. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park.
