He was employed by Global Tooling Systems of Shelby Twp. He graduated in 2004 from Algonac High School.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and four wheeling.

Brett is survived by his parents, Joseph and Paula of Clay Twp.; brother, David; grandparents, Mary (General Rudolph) Bartholomew of Naples, FL; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services are Friday in St. Mary Queen of Creation Church, 50931 Maria, New Baltimore, with the Rev. Nicholas Zukowski, of St. Mary Queen of Creation Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday, 2-9 p.m. with scripture service at 7:30 p.m. at the Gendernalik Funeral Home, Inc., 35259 Twenty-Three Mile Road, New Baltimore, Michigan 48047. In state at 9:30 until the liturgy begins at St. Mary Queen of Creation Church.
