ALTHOFF, DOROTHY, age 92, of Bessemer, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2006. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Brown Service Bessemer with burial at Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. Jim Smith, grandson of the deceased will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2006 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Elmer L. Althoff. Survivors: one daughter, Clara S. Laird; one brother, Paul C. Teat, Jr.; one sister, Fay Anderson of Harpersville, seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Daniel Laird, John Laird, Wesley Smith, Jimmy Smith, Mike Anderson and Neal Jackson. Brown Service Bessemer will be serving the Althoff family (205) 425-2424.
