RUTH “NANNY” ASHLEY, 73, a former resident of Slidell, LA, and a resident of Dothan, Alabama, for the past 14 years, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Ochsner Northshore Medical Center in Slidell, Louisiana.
Beloved Wife of the late James “Peanut” Ashley;
Mother of Jimmy Ashley, Clay Ashley (Debra), Gayla McMahen (Todd), and Amy Lewis (Greg);
Daughter of the late Alvin and Iva Payne;
Sister of Bob Ritchey, Alvin Payne, Charles Payne, Brenda Westmoreland, and the late Herb Ritchie;
Also survived by eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kayla Ashley and Bailee McMahen.
A native of Stoddard County, MO, “Nanny” was a registered nurse, retired from Flowers Hospital and was currently serving as the school nurse at Northside Methodist Acadamy, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dothan, AL.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.
