Woodrow "Woody" Adams, Sr., 81, Speedway, went to sleep peacefully and awoke with Jesus on September 30, 2006. He had worked 10 years for the John G. Keller Coal Company, then 10 years as manager of Washington Park North Cemetery, then retired from the Post Office after 19 years. During WWII, Mr. Adams served his country with the Navy for 3 years aboard the USS Colorado. He was a member of Speedway Church of the Nazarene, where he had served for over 20 years as Sunday School Superintendent. His wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Adams, survives. Other survivors include his sons, Woody (and his wife, Diana) Adams, Jr. and Jerry (and his wife, Allene) Adams; a sister, Dorothy Walton; six grandchildren, Laura, Stephen, Stephanie, Dawn, David and Danny; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 in Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center-Speedway, where the Adams family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2006.
