Doc, you and I worked so many years together at Atoka Hospital. We did many 'Code Blue's' during that time... but at your last one, you were the patient. Dr. Hayes was a good man, a competent, kind and caring physician. He did a great deal of behind the scenes work to keep and maintain our hospital. He genuinely cared about the medical needs of our community. He worked for many years for less financial reward and under less than optimal conditions than could have been had elsewhere. But, unlike so many others who have come through, gathered their reward and left contributing little..he stayed the course and fought the battle until deteriorating health forced him out.
