Larry Gene Akers, 60, passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 28, 2017 at his home in Sanger. The son of F. E. and Irene (Parker) Akers, he was born on November 13, 1956 in Denton, Texas.
On October 10, 1981, he married Leanne Jones in Justin, Texas. They made their home in Bolivar. He served as a welding inspector for Steel Inspectors of Texas, Inc. Larry was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating.
He is survived by his wife, Leanne of Sanger, a son Chase Akers of Farmersville, two sisters, Mary Jane Looper of Sanger and Debra Cross of Sanger and one grandson Tate Akers.
