Helen retired from the State of Illinois and was a Samaritan Volunteer for St. John's Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, doing crossword puzzles (in ink), and spending time with her grandchildren and her cat, Jinx.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, John of Springfield; daughters, Theresa and Carrie ; grandchildren,; two sisters, Barbara and Sandra
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Private family ceremonies were held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
