A plumber by trade, he was last employed as a civilian at the Ft. Dix military base in Wrightstown, NJ. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country faithfully during both World War II, in the United States Marines and again in the United States Navy during the Korean War. A member of the American Legion Post 79, he was also a member of the VFW Post 1817 as well as the Elks.
An avid artist, he enjoyed painting and in his younger years, he enjoyed body building and boxing. Husband of the late Theresa Grabitz and father of the late Joanne Grabitz, he is survived by his step-son Donald Wilson of Edgewater Park; his great-niece Rachelle Watson also of Edgewater Park as well as his two sisters Sophie of Burlington and Virginia of New York.
Funeral Services will be held Friday morning at the Chapel of the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
