Wife of Palmer Christopher Battalino, Jr. (aka "Bat"), who survives her. They were married on June 24, 1969 in Hartford, CT.

SUSAN (WILLIAMS) BATTALINO, 55, of East Hartford, died on Thursday, October 20, 2005. She was the beloved wife of Palmer C. "Bat" Battalino for 36 years.

Born in Hartford, the daughter of Robert T. Williams of Wethersfield and the late Grace (Duncan) Williams, Sue was raised in Avon and Newington before moving to East Hartford many years ago. For most of her life she was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Newington. In 2003, she retired from the State of Connecticut Treasury Department after 30 years of employment. Sue's passion was spending time with Bat, riding their Harley Davidson.

Her survivors also include two brothers and a sister, Jeffrey D. Williams of Norfolk, Richard F. Williams of Middletown, and Nancy Williams Hogan of Newington; and her mother-in-law, Margaret Battalino of Wethersfield. She also leaves her aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call today from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.

Her funeral service will be held tonight at 8 p.m. at Newington Memorial, with the Rev. Jane White-Hassler officiating.

Donations in Sue's memory may be made to the Joey P. Bavaro Fund at any Wachovia Bank.
