Mrs. Elva Hand Abshire, 73, of 420 E. Grove St., died at Cottage Hospital Thursday at 12:45 p.m.
She was born at Ray on Oct. 1, 1900. She was a retired schoolteacher. She married Gerald Hand, who died in 1949. She married Donald Abshire, who died in 1969.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Martha Jane Strombeck, Big Bend, Wis., and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel Saturday at 3 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call this evening at the chapel.
