From the Staten Island Advance:
JACKSON Wendy Jackson of New Dorp on July 29, 2013. Beloved wife of Calvin Moore. Loving sister of Mike Frayler, Barbara Frayler Cannata and Dennis Jackson. Dear aunt of Michael, Jason, Christopher, Nicholas, Arthur, Krystal, Sean and Ryan. Memorial Service from Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Castleton Corners, on Saturday 3 P.M.

This is one of my dearest friends. Wendy is a warm, loving, talented, fun lady. She is very much alive in paradise.I am so grateful that I saw her this past Feb. She had come to a Memorial for Louie at my home and it was the first time in over 5 years that we had gotten together. Time, distance and illness were factors for not seeing each other.Wendy was always in my heart and in February I could not get over how wonderful she looked. It was great catching up.We spoke several times after that and I was greatly looking forward to coming up to my new home in upstate NY.

Then somewhere around April Wendy got the terrible news, they missed a mass behind her lungs, but there was hope. She had to do Chemo, and was more than willing to do what she needed to do. Her husband Calvin, was her guardian angel. Wendy stated she would have been devastated if not for Cal. He was her rock as well as her faith in Jesus.I NEVER thought my friend would not live through this.I kept in touch hoping she would be well enough for us to pick her up to visit.

I had called Cal and he told me that Wen had to go to hospice. I told him I wanted to go down and see her and he told me he would call to tell me when she was more alert. That was on a Friday the 26th, on Monday the 29th my phone rang and I saw Wendy's # on the caller ID and I picked up very happy, only to hear Calvin say she had "Gone to God".He was with her as she went to her glory.Calvin is a man of great faith, but Wendy was the love of her life and this was very hard on him.He was also the love of Wendy's life. They were together almost 30 years if not more.I thank God that he took her quickly to him and her suffering was not extended.

Until we meet again my dear friend, pray for us down here. We love and miss you.
