Husband of Emily Vogel and 1939 graduate of St. John's Law School, summa cum laude and valedictorian. Mr. Vogel, know to his friends as "Hank", served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a "frogman" achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He worked in the law offices of Cole, Grimes, Dietz and Friedman prior to joining law school classmate, Philip Lorber, in Heidelberg, Germany with the Courts Martial Branch of the Judge Advocates Division Office of the U.S.Army. In 1950 both Mr.Vogel and Lorber were licensed by Gen. Lucius Clay to engage in the private practice of military law, trust and general court martial in Germany and practiced before the U.S. Court of the Allied High Commission for Germany. He married Emily Smith Daggy in 1953 and returned to the U.S. in 1967 settling in Wilton, Connecticut. He was a partner in the law firm of Lorber-Vogel, retiring in 1976. He died in Norwalk Hospital of urological cancer.
