Mildred E. Alexander, 83, of Allentown, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Mosser Nursing Home in Trexlertown. She was the wife of the late Gordon Alexander, who passed away in March 2010.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Dorothy (Diefenderfer) Hance. Mildred was a 1946 graduate of Dunmore High School. She worked as a secretary for Pennsylvania Wholesale Drug for many years and also as a church secretary and office manager. She played the piano and organ beautifully in several churches where she lived, and she also taught piano. Mildred was a Born Again Christian and member of Mt. Eaton Baptist Church in Saylorsburg. She was also an avid gardener, an excellent cook, and a wonderful example of Christian life to her daughters and later their families.

Survivors: Daughters, Diana F. Flanagan of Allentown and Jill S. Rivera and husband Albert of Columbus, OH; sister, Jeane Bigart of East Missoula, MT; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.

Services: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, where friends may call from 7-9 PM Monday evening. Burial will follow at Mt. Eaton Church Cemetery in Saylorsburg. A memory tribute may be placed at www.longfuneralhome.com.
