Age 89, passed away on April 10, 2016 at her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, surrounded by her family. She was born in Chelmsford, MA on June 19, 1926 to Frank and Selma Martel.
After WWII, she married Jerry Andrews and moved to her Long Beach home where she raised her daughters and lived for 53 years. She started a long and successful career later in life with the Los Angeles Probation Department where she worked in Community Affairs, retiring after 18 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Edson J. Andrews.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Frank Martel and wife Terry of Temecula, CA; daughters, Shannon Denton of Charlotte, NC, Connie Matoushek and husband, Ron, of Virginia Beach, VA, Gail Andrews of Virginia Beach; granddaughter, Alicia Denton and Claude Renfrow of Rock Hill, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 3pm in the Church of the Hills, Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA, with burial to follow.
