Funeral services for Doris T. Balmer, 79, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov.5, at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, with burial to follow in Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown.
She died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Floyd Memorial Hospital & Health Services. She was born on Dec. 18th, 1927, the daughter of Stephan A. and Harriett I. Dellinger Taylor.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Perryman of New Albany, and Carolyn Young of Paoli, one son, Carl Balmer of Jeffersonville, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Balmer, a son, Charles L. Balmer Sr., an infant daughter, Linda Balmer, a brother Robert (Bob) Taylor, and two sisters, Alice Martin, and Alma Murphy.
