Funeral services for Betty E. Elder, 78, of Clarksville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, at Kraft Funeral Services, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Edwardsville Cemetery, Georgetown. She died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Wedgewood Healthcare Center, Clarksville.

She was born Feb. 14, 1931, in New Albany, to the late Cecil and Bernice Kays Engleman.

Survivors include her children, Bernice Ballew and her husband, Thomas, of Clarksville, Ronnie Elder and his wife, Barbara, of Patriot, Millie Simon and her husband, Tony, of Laconia, Jean Simon with Johnny Stewart of New Salisbury and Lois Roberts and her husband, Jimmy, of Orleans; daughter-in-law, Cindy Elder of Elizabeth; brother, Delbert Engleman of Elizabeth; sisters, Lois Missi and Wanda Sisson, both of New Albany and Stella Lori of Corydon; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Berl S. Elder and son, Mike Elder.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and after 9 a.m. Friday.
