She was born in Clarksville, Ga., and was a member of First Baptist Church in New Albany.
Survivors include a daughter, Melinda Piorkowski; three sons, James Nelson Calfee, Larry Dean Calfee, and William Stewart Calfee; a sister, Martha D. Turpen-Pasternak; a brother, N.U. Turpen; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nello Calfee.
All services are private. She will be buried in the presence of her family and Ruby.
